Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch flakey sea salt to taste
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, omit if you are sensitive to spice

Instructions

  • Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
  • Brush with maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Place bananas in the air fryer basket and cook at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Remove carefully with a set of tongs, sprinkle with just a pinch of flakey sea salt, and serve warm.

Notes

General
  1. If you would like your bananas stickier and a bit sweeter, use 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. You can also sprinkle some sugar on the bananas prior to cooking.
  2. If you're sensitive to spice, omit the cayenne pepper.
  3. If you'd like to make more than 3 bananas, work in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. You'll want your bananas in a single layer without any overlap.
  4. You can use parchment paper or cooking spray to help with the cleanup process. Just cut a round of parchment paper to fit the air fryer basket or spray it with a bit of cooking spray before adding the fruit.
Storage and Reheating
  1. Fridge Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days in the fridge.
  2. Freezer I do not recommend freezing this dish. You can, however, freeze whole, peeled bananas for about 3 to 6 months.
  3. Reheating I recommend placing these back in the air fryer at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for a few minutes until warmed through. You can also reheat them on the stovetop with a bit of oil or butter.
