Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries

Instructions

Air Fryer

  • Wash and dry strawberries. Slice the strawberries into even slices between ¼- to ⅛-inch thick and dispose of the green leaves and stem.
  • Preheat air fryer to 180 degrees F. If your air fryer only goes down to 200 degrees, preheat to 200.
  • Remove the basket from the air fryer. Add a piece of parchment paper cut to fit the base.
  • Add the strawberry slices in an even single layer and air fry for 1 hour (45 minutes if your air fryer is at 200 degrees). Flip halfway through.
  • When the strawberries are fully dried, remove from the air fryer basket and serve or store for later use.

Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Slice the strawberries into ¼- to ⅛-inch thick slices and place them in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook until the strawberries are fully dried, flipping occasionally, about 2 hours.

Dehydrator

  • Place ¼-inch thick sliced strawberries on the trays of your dehydrator in an even layer without the berries touching. Close the dehydrator doors.
  • Dehydrate the strawberries at 135 degrees Fahrenheit for about 8 hours, or until fully dried.

Notes

General
  1. Air fryers can vary in size and temperature, so be sure to check your strawberries early.
  2. Some air fryers will only go to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. In this case, try only cooking them for 45 minutes first, flipping around the 22-minute mark.
  3. Work in batches. You won't want to crowd the air fryer, so work in batches to ensure the strawberries are in an even, single layer.
Storage
  1. Fridge You can store air fryer strawberries in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.
  2. Freezer To freeze, make sure the fruit is completely dry and cooled. Place in individual serving sizes in a plastic bag and remove as much air as possible. Seal the bag and place in the freezer for later use.
