Equipment

Ingredients

Turkey Burger Sliders

Optional Toppings

  • cheese any good melting cheese
  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • onion
  • mayonnaise
  • ketchup
  • mustard

Instructions

Skillet

  • Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Grate half of an onion using the smallest or second-smallest holes of a box grater.
  • Measure two tablespoons of the grated onion, leaving behind any liquid.
  • Combine ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, grated onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  • Combine the ingredients in the meat mixture well, trying not to overwork the turkey meat.
  • Divide the turkey into eight equal portions.
  • Add the burgers to the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Toast the buns.
  • If adding cheese, add it in the last two minutes of cooking.
  • Remove the finished sliders from the pan, measuring with a meat thermometer to ensure they have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Build the burgers using your favorite toppings and serve right away!

Grill

  • If cooking the burgers on the grill, preheat to medium-high heat, then follow steps 1-5 above.
  • Grill the slider patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Toast the buns on the grill while cooking your burgers.
  • Assemble the burgers, add your favorite toppings, and serve.

Notes

General
  1. Use any other toppings of your choice. I also enjoy pickles, avocado, or kimchi!
  2. If using sea salt or table salt, use half of the recommended amount of salt. Table salt and sea salt are much saltier per teaspoon than kosher salt.
  3. Use a few twists of the pepper mill.
Storage and Reheating
  1. Fridge You can refrigerate leftover turkey burger sliders in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days. Store the buns and burgers separately so the buns don't get soggy.
  2. Freezer You can freeze cooked turkey burgers if needed, but they may become overcooked or dry in the process of thawing and reheating. I recommend freezing turkey burger patties raw instead.
  3. Reheat the patties from the fridge in the microwave or in a pan with a bit of oil.
