- 1 slice bread sourdough, white, wheat, or other
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 1 avocado
- 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning
- lime juice to taste
Toast your bread.
Spread with the cream cheese.
Slice the avocado in half lengthwise and remove the pit.
Create thin slices of avocado while it is still in its skin.
Scoop the avocado out gently with a spoon.
Fan the avocado over the toast with cream cheese.
Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice, and serve.
General
- Estimated calories are for tartine with 1 tablespoon of cream cheese.
- Try adding a soft-boiled egg or smoked salmon, some spicy pickled onions, crumbled goat cheese, or fresh sliced cherry tomatoes. You can also add fresh herbs like cilantro, basil, or chives.
- For extra crispy, decadent toast, add some olive oil to a pan over medium heat and toast each side of the bread.
Storage
- Fridge I recommend only making this avocado tartine when you are ready to eat it.
- After an avocado is sliced, it can turn brown fairly quickly. If you have leftover avocado, brush it with lime or lemon juice and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Freezer I do not recommend freezing this recipe.
