Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 pitcher filtered cold water still or sparkling, about 5 cups
  • 1 lemon seeds removed
  • 1 cucumber small, or ½ large
  • 1 bunch mint about 0.5 ounces
  • ice cubes optional

Instructions

  • Slice the lemon and cucumber. Remove any seeds from the lemon slices.
  • Pick the mint leaves from their stem.
  • Add the lemon, cucumber, and mint leaves to the pitcher of water.
  • Add ice cubes if desired. Serve or store for later.

Notes

General
  1. Add different fresh herbs to the water, like basil, for a different fresh flavor.
  2. Sparkling water can be used in place of still water.
  3. Switch up your citrus by using limes, oranges, or even grapefruit in this water.
  4. You can infuse the water with just about any citrus, fresh herbs, and ginger for a refreshing drink!
Storage
  1. Fridge This water is best stored in a pitcher in the fridge so the lemon, cucumber, and mint-infused water continue to impart their flavor into the water.
  2. You can also pour it into smaller batches in water bottles. Any fruit-infused water can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge. If it is unrefrigerated, it will last for 1 day.
  3. Freezer If you'd like, freeze your citrus in the freezer overnight and use it in your water as flavored ice cubes. They will thaw slowly in the fridge.
  4. I recommend straining fruit-infused water and freezing it in ice cube trays or popsicle molds. Once frozen, move to a resealable plastic or silicone bag.
  5. For the best flavor, use frozen infused water within 3 to 4 weeks.
