    Why You'll Love This Dish

Not only are these dried fruit slices beautiful, but they are versatile, too. They act as a lovely dried citrus garnish on cocktails, are wonderful added to tea, or can be used as a garland or in potpourri for the holidays.

You can also add these dry oranges slices in place of fresh citrus fruit slices in marinades, eaten as a healthy snack, or used as a garnish for desserts.

They have a long shelf life. Drying fruit can extend its shelf life as long as it is stored in an airtight container.

Finally, they're delicious. These air fryer dried orange slices are sweet, crisp, and full of citrus flavor.

How long does it take to dehydrate orange slices?

In the air fryer, this will take about 60 to 90 minutes.

What happens when you air fry fruit?

In this recipe, air frying allows you to dehydrate the fruit. With other preparations, you can develop a baked texture, with a soft interior and lightly crisp exterior.

What fruits can you air fry?

You can air fry oranges, blueberries, strawberries, pears, apples, pineapple--just about any fruit will work well in the air fryer.

    How to Serve

You can eat dehydrated oranges as a healthy snack, or use them...

    • in tea
    • as a cocktail garnish
    • as a dessert garnish
    • in marinades
    • as part of a holiday garland

    Expert Tips

    • Air fryers can vary in size and temperature, so be sure to check your oranges early.
    • Some air fryers will only go to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. In this case, check your oranges around the 45-minute mark and continue cooking as needed.
    • Work in batches. You won't want to crowd the air fryer, so work in batches to ensure the oranges are in an even, single layer.
