Why You'll Love Air Fried English Muffins
This simple recipe will teach you to toast an English muffin in the air fryer so that it's perfectly crispy and browned. We've replaced the toaster normally on the counter in my house with our air fryer!
I personally love toasted English muffins because of their texture. They are such a good vessel for butter and jam. The creamy butter and sweet fruit nestle into the nooks and crannies of the muffin for a crispy, flavorful bite.
You can serve these for a quick breakfast, make them into sandwiches, or have them as a snack! They're a versatile item to have on hand and ready in under 5 minutes with no need to preheat the air fryer.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Absolutely. Just place the toast in the base of the air fryer basket and cook for a few minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Sometimes English muffins can pose a little resistance when you try to split them apart. Split English muffins gently with a paring knife, or press the tines of a fork between the two halves to delicately pry them open without them falling apart.
If you're seeing uneven toasting, be sure your English muffins are in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If they are overlapping, part of the muffin will not be as toasted as the exposed portions.
Variations
You can use these same directions to toast bread or hamburger buns! The air fryer can toast just about any bread product you can think of.
Storage and Reheating
Fridge Toasted English muffins will only remain crispy for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator. If you store them in an airtight container, you may extend the crispiness for about 24 hours.
Freezer I do not recommend freezing already toasted English muffins. You can, however, freeze untoasted English muffins in their packaging for about 3 months.
Reheating To reheat toasted English muffins from the fridge, you can put them in the air fryer for a few minutes until they are warmed through.
For frozen English muffins, you can thaw them at room temperature, or place them in the microwave, unwrapped, for about 30 seconds, then toast the English muffins.
Expert Tips
- Air fryers, like ovens, can vary in size and temperature. Because of this, it's recommended that you remove the air fryer basket to check your food early and understand that your air fryer may take a minute or two more or less than the recipe provides.
- When you want to toast multiple English muffins, be sure to place the English muffin halves in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Otherwise, parts of the English muffin may not be as toasted as others.
- Sometimes when I use the air fryer, lighter items like English muffins can be moved around during the cooking process. If you hear any loud noises, like the air fryer is struggling, the English muffin may be stuck in the upper portion of the air fryer. Shake the basket a few times to get the English muffin unstuck.
